Pastoral and Wellbeing

The wellbeing of our pupils lies at the heart of all we do here at Warlingham Park Prep School.

Our team work hard at equipping our pupils with the skills they will need to thrive in the years to come.

As a small school, we know our children as individuals and are able to provide a safe an nurturing environment, enabling them to thrive both academically and socially. We believe in setting examples to our pupils through positive role modelling and our code of conduct , the ‘Warlingham Way’ fosters independence, resilience, respect and kindness. These elements run through all we do at school and is reinforced by our PSHE and RSE programme.

Our pastoral team identifies any pupils needing additional emotional support and this is provided through individual or group sessions with our specially trained Teaching Assistants.

We reward our pupils achievements (both in and out of the classroom) through a good work assembly each Friday which gives pupils a chance to celebrate individual strengths.

Our older children are given areas of responsibility and children from Reception upwards have the opportunity to be part of the School Council, where pupils’ opinions on a range of topics are shared with the Head.

The Warlingham Way

Our Warlingham Way is our code of conduct, designed as part of our commitment to developing the whole child. In our Warlingham Way, which is our school code of conduct we encourage respect of others and of self, freedom of speech, resilience, perseverance and kindness. This starts with our youngest children in Nursery and continues throughout the school, aiding the transition to the next stage of your child’s education. We celebrate the efforts of children who follow the Warlingham Way in our good work assemblies.

We respect our school environment

Everyone has a right to be heard

We use kind words and actions

We try our best in all we do

We learn from our mistakes

We don’t give up when things get hard

We take responsibility for our actions

We aim high!
